American Christian’s and DOMA

The striking down of the Defense of Marriage Act should serve as a call for all true American Christians to wake up and realize that we cannot PErsecution-circo-romanocontinue to live in comfort and go in the direction we have been. Even the poorer among us are far richer than the vast majority of mankind, just because we live in the U.S. Our wealth has been a curse, making us complacent and to a degree worldly, and I confess I am 100% guilty of this myself. I admit that I really care about my new car, video games, the Harley I plan on buying soon, etc, and that distracts me to some degree from spiritual things and I need to refocus – not that those things are bad if used and obtained responsibly. The repeal of DOMA, as well as the Federal government’s insistence on allowing women into military combat arms professions (being in the combat arms myself, this is of particularly grave concern to me) has reminded me that we cannot go on living concerned with the world and loving the things of the world, while the pillars of civilization fall around us, and because we are saved the world should not be so precious to us – the world is a cesspool of continual entropy.

Look, we are losing a lot of ground. Our nation is a shadow of its former self. Russia, the primary nation in the evil former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) is arguably a Godlier nation than the United States now! What a huge difference a couple decades can make. I think this is because in Russia, Christianity has thrived since the fall of the USSR because its people don’t have all the worldly distractions our Christians do, not to mention the abundance of false teachers such as your Rob Bell’s and Joel Osteen’s, leading the flock after the wrong things and herding wolves in sheep’s clothing. The Russian Orthodox Church, for all its faults, stands by the Word of God fairly well and does not allow women pastors and other heresies to enter into their Body as American Protestants have.

As Christians, our treasure is not to be found on this earth, so we need to get our minds of the things of this world. Christianity has effectively been near-criminalized while we were preoccupied with things destined to become dust, and politics, as if politics could pave a way for America’s salvation. Because the Church in America has forsaken her First Love, I believe God is going to allow her to enter into persecution. We’ve had it too good for too long, and it’s been bad for the soul, and our Loving Father who knows our souls and eternal reward are far more meaningful than our lives on earth disciplines His own.

The persecution is already dawning upon us. It’s harder to get a job now if you are a Christian. Most employers check your Facebook now before they hire you. If they see posts supporting real marriage they will likely brand you a bigot, making it harder for you to find work just for following Christ Jesus. If they see posts against feminism, abortion or against Barack Obama’s decisions you could be construed as sexist and racist. Famous television chef Paula Dean recently got fired for a racial slur she said aloud years ago, if you don’t think the little things you post on the Internet which are not evil as her alleged slurs were will not affect you, you are mistaken.

However, your response to this phenomenon will be a test of your Godliness and courage. If you refuse to speak out on the Internet and in person concerning the truth, then you are acting like a coward, and if you read the verse under the header for this page you know that cowards will not be entering the Kingdom of Heaven. If you refuse to say anything about DOMA and stand with Christ in this epoch in American history it is obvious that you fear man more than God.

What we need now is repentance from worldly mindedness, and an outcry against the government which is criminalizing Christianity and enshrining perversion. This isn’t about the Tea Party or GOP, this is about the Bible and our country, founded by Christian men, becoming a threat for Christians rather than a place where they can live in freedom and within the bounds of Natural Law. No political movement can save us, we need to plead with God in prayer and do our own part. In the end, no matter what we do, things may be grim for us, but heaven awaits the faithful and we will go down not as cowards, but persecuted for Christ’s sake and with a greater eternal reward. Just remember, this world is fading away, and the quicker the better. Christ’s return may be our only hope of escaping this downward plunge, as the world runs out of viable places for the Brethren to dwell in peace. Even so, amen, come Lord Jesus!

John 15:18-20 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.” – Jesus Christ (ESV)
